Their knowledge IS power here :) so yes.. they do power themselfs from within. of crouse they can reserve raw magical energy and channel energy that energy for any spell-purpose. Think of raw magical energy as we think of potential energy with gravity, statics and kinetics. When an apple is raised to a tree it gets potential energy, meaning that if its dropped from the tree it will hurt your head a bit if it falls on you :).. in the same was raw magical energy is "potent to make a change to structure of reality" and when used it uses that potential and does just that. -m
