Interesting idea this birth system, we have thought of it during the times
of Majik 3, and decided that it would be all too silly. We even thought
about the system for making the children, heh, but we decided to put the
idea to the same category with the ideas of making shitting as necessary
as eating, and then making a 'breath' command that you have to type once
in a while, or otherwise the character will forget how to breath. Anyways,
the birth system idea is good, if making it easy and simple. There is one
big problem however that breaks things, the time is not that fast in
Majik, it would take years of time until your character would be adult,
but oh well, at the times of Majik 3 we were trying to be as realistic as
possible, no matter what it causes, so we discarded the idea completely,
ultimately only because of that problem - we didn't quite see the fact
that it is impossible and we have to be a bit more flexible. Having
parents for children would add just so much to the game and it would make
the children really play the game, not only log in and quit right after
it - which would likely happen if the registration would be too easy
and this birth system thingie would also free us from the problem of
having unwanted players in the game. Everyone would take the game more
seriously if we would have this birth system. We might add something
like this in the future to the game, if not a birth system but then some
other system that registration to the game wouldn't be so simple. We're
not making a game where we want thousands of players that play for few
hours, making mischief and then quit. For that we might do a separate
exp-making version and that is not too hard to do.

That is not good. The player should have control over what kind of
character the player is going to play. Not all would want to play a
strong and stupid troll or a nimble elf. If needing to play a character
that the player doesn't want, then the player quits and creates an
another character and that is _not_ a good thing. It is meant in Majik
that players concentrate on the character, not just test around and do
something, we want it to be taken seriously and no-one can't play
seriously a character that they don't really want to play.

Yes, that is silly and unrealistic, no parent have control over what kind
of child they will have, only factor that they can choose is the race of
the children and that is comes from the race of the parents or then a
half-race, like human and elf as parents.

Another problem of this birth system would be the unavoidable fact that
most of the players are male and thus choose their characters to be male
too, so we would a have shortage of female characters and for this system
to work optimally, we would need much more female characters.
