Hook's Majik3d update Nov 10 - Nov 16 !Now weekly! 0. Hook starts the Hook's Majik3d Update news letter 1. Map changes 2. Dabian updated on the server 3. Welcome to Pekka Toppi 4. Dazzt needs a height map 5. xml tests being posted 0. Hook starts the Hook's Majik3d Update news letter I have started a newsletter listing the activities of the majik3d team. Most of the material listed will pertain to design work. The reason for this is becouse I happen to be a designer (non-code writter) not a developer ( code-writter) and lack the ability to read source code. Updates anounced by members of the developement team will be posted though. This newsletter will be posted on the design mail list once a week and shall contain a summary of design posts, developer anouncements, and web page updates, as well as anything i pick up from majik3 MUD traffic. 1. Map changes A vote has been made and Bethel will be changing the map so that it no longer looks like a square along with some other adjustments. No graphics as of yet have been posted. 2. Dabian updated on the server Dabian, the coolest and most stable of all the linux/GNU distros, has been updated on the majik server what version it upgraded from or to is not known. If you really want to know ask Namhas at namhas@majik3d.org.(personly I don't think he knows either but he can fake an answer better then me.) 3. Welcome to Pekka Toppi Pekka Toppi has joined the Majik3d team. He is not sure what to do so someone give him something to do. (My suggestion is to come up with monsters. Generic fantasy world ones at first like unicorns and gouls then work your way to more original unique to Majik type monsters.) Anyway everyone welcome the new guy his e-mail is pot@norssi.oulu.fi and home page is http://norssi.oulu.fi/~pot. 4. Dazzt needs a height map Dazzt has stated the need for a height map. Presumably Bethel will head this one but he is a busy guy and if anyone wants to get in on the action please post your intentions. Requirements of the map can be found here: https://majik3d-legacy.org/mailinglist/majik-design/0559.html Dazzt can be contacted at this e-mail address: jari.saukkonen@cs.helsinki.fi 5. xml tests being posted Some of the developers are testing out xml for the world_book. Examples of how it will look in html are at https://majik3d-legacy.org/~namhas/xml/book1.html. If you want to see the tags they are using look at the docbook file (.db) at https://majik3d-legacy.org/~namhas/xml/althainon.db
