Before accepting new designers, I believe we should test them somehow like for example demanding them to write some example description and then decide if we accept them. Forums are a good place for such discussion, don't you agree?
Also, when we accept them and they gain access to the worldbook, they should immediatelly read through it! It would be really good if elder designers would ask questions from them to make sure that they have understood everything. It appears that there are a lot misunderstandings even among current designers and I blame myself because of it.
This leads to my third request: I hope that all current designers read through the worldbook carefully and if questions arise, we should discuss about them in the designing thread. I have myself read through it almost completelly and I certainly have many comments waiting but I first allow you to make your own, to see if they are similar to mine.

This has been done with all the new designers we have gotten lately...we have asked them to show us something and when it was deemed good we have added them the team. There was no need to explicitly say this when it was already implicitly being done. Also much of this has been done on the forums. If you notice that many of the descs were added to the forums as application descs

Yes, and they have been (imho) rather poor. Makes me quest who accepted those descs in the beginning. Also, we haven't demanded them to read forums or the worldbook.
I don't understand what's with you "this has been already done so it doesn't need to be mentioned". I believe it is same as with your dislike towards descs: you want everything to remain in verbal form which makes it easy for people to twist its meaning.
Hmm, I actually if this "verbality" is some sort of modern disease. Where have people lost will to write things down?

Actually i find sweatshop and Archantes descriptions to be very well done. Metric's 3d models are also comming along nicely

I wouldn't know i don't have access to giving ppl permissions. But to who ever gave permissions to the above mentioned you did a good job and thank you.

???? I have no idea what you are talking about here. I have never "verbaly" talked with anyone on the majik team...at least as far as i know. I did take a trip to europe in 92' but the odds are against such a meeting.

Thank you. But however the thing is, that I, for example, was not going to be your designer after all. You just placed me to team page. I was posting to forum and then after a week or so, there it was. Then I desided to actually do something. So why not to do like you did to me. Just let the folk post and send stuff but no rights to WB before we are sure..
Like this we (see, I use 'we' naturally when speaking of majik team:) could prevent information leaks. What if there is someone who wants to get all stuff from WB to survive better in majik when is's playable.. Sounds bad, doesn't it?

Someone stealing stuff from Majik 'mala fide' should be prosecuted by the law officials in a similar manner. The laws about information thievery and its stealing are improving by the day, and especially in the USA because of the recent events, anything which is considered terrorism, like computer stuff, will be dealt with rather harshly I believe.
Of the designers who do not do anything, I suggest kicking them out. I'd hate to see people given credit for stuff they have not made. :P

Maybe we need to hear them before kicking.. There can be a good reason for it and they may start writing ASAP. But if however there is idle people with no activity at all - then.. there you go! :)
