Will there be any sort of government system? I don't want a braindead tyrant thinking, "600% income tax? Sounds good to me!!"

Why don't you gather a group of people to kill this evil tyrant?
Or you could always move somewhere else.

There might not even be need to dispose of him, you could write some list with the names of townpeople that will move if taxes are not reduced. Then it is up to this leader if he wants an empty town to rule over.

But seriously, if Majik has government(s), will it have different towns and countries? And could you have elections? I think it would be cool if they had wars and stuff! (Well, not cool to a newbie.)

Yes, there will be governments, towns and countries, and yes, they do have wars. The social structuring and social relations of player collectives is in fact something of a priority.

Not too cool for oldie either, just think of all that infrastructure that you have built, going up in a smoke.

So are the towns/countries/goverment(s) lead by real ppl? What about they go on a week holiday, will they loose their jobs or something like that?
About taxes too, will there be some taxcollectors with some sort of bodyguards? If you move out of town to some forest or something like that, will they really have to find you first?
I liked the idea of some ppl (friends etc...) could see something bad happenig to their friends etc... Like dreams or something, how would that be able? -The Majik system sends a message: "Your friend has been killed by a dark and short haired man, who is keeping up a store for his job. That man is living near by..."??? I guess it is a bit impossible to make a character see a foggy animation from the eyes of the dead char when the murderer is trying to kill him..?

Will the different countries have different currencies, complete with exchange rates, or will there be a universal currency?

My opinion on this matter has always been that the economy should be based on bartering... if someone is industrious enough to mine all that gold (for that common universal RPG currency called Gold Piece) and mint it to form pieces or coins, well, then I'm in favor for currency.
To me this is the most important question that is entangled with NPCs, item valuation, item construction, exchange and therefore the whole dynamics of the game.
Trade should be the ultimate form of quantifiable interaction between the players. If this is something hard coded, then there will not be much dynamics in the game.

No more questions about this will be answered to the general public, hopefully.
