Two maps.

I was bored enough to make two maps. The first one is:
http://www.majik3d.org/~darshan/sumukartta.gif
It's a ten-minute proof-of-concept map which has the rivers flowing correctly - ie. no branching rivers.
The second map is:
http://www.majik3d.org/~darshan/newunofficialmap.jpg
Based on the current worldmap (not the fixed one above), it shows the designed areas, with races in red and designers/responsible people in yellow (excepting everything by Beregar since I don't know anything reliable about the man's doings). Some of it turned out a bit messy with jpg compression (if someone wants a crisper picture let me know). Question marks imply either a) "Contents unknown", b) "Maintainer unknown", or c) "Designed by Beregar"

Tell me what you think of them.

maps Maps MAPS...i love maps :)

Anyway I like them all. One thing though. I made a test map in which i tilted it a bit so it would have an equtor like tropical zone. see here:

http://ftp.majik3d.org/open/hook/maps/map.png

I showed some people and there wasn't a huge protest. I think Yorka liked it. anyway I don't know if we want to do this but it only takes about 20 min to tilt a map like that in gimp...so if it isn't to much trouble..

I don't understand where you got your information for the map? How would I submit my race's island? The Felion come from a volcanic island and I don't who to talk to. Also are you going to put race names on the map?

I don't follow. Why rotate the map?

so as to make a more realistic equator like tropical zone...so then we can base plant and animal habitat distrobution on longitude, altitude and rain fall. Unless you don't want to do that.

Oh yeah, that one. I've got nothing against that.

Read the World text from the Worldbook.

Yes it will be like a planet in that there will be longitudinal zones, Like an artic, a temprate and subtropical and tropical zones...of course these will be more of a gradiant then hard zones. But the world is still flat, a plain , not a sphere, and as far as I know there isn't an edge. The plain is infinite.

I got the information from the worldbook and from continuous participation in irc discussions. The map has culture names, in red. But this map is only for designers' convenience in the design process. It is not for mortals and it will not be distributed anywhere.

Zaxim, I've ignored your race in the map because you haven't provided us with any info on your design doings - you're never around on #majik. I've assumed that you've gotten bored of the project and vanished, which is what most new designers do after two or three weeks.

oooh lovely use of italics tags in your post :)
No I have not left because of boredom, but I was really busy with school work. But I may leave Majik permenently because of lack of time to work, but I haven't left yet,
Me leave after three weeks????? Hah, I've been following Majik 3D for a few years now. I think I first stumbled onto the site in 1999 from mudconnector.com
