Dear desginers,
I don't mean to be rude but this is a wake up call! Looking at the last few posts most seem to be arguing over a story to put on the site and marketing value for majik. Some are working like origon and others like him. But we are WORLD desginers we design the world. Our prioties should be to finish the Nemen page in the worldbook heck do something but debating a story is slightly a bit off the topic. I ha to say that flame when ever you want to.

It seems dead, but so do all. Tell me, is there a reason for world designers to discuss about world design? People here have their tasks and they know what they must do. I'm can't speak for all, but in my case, I have no need to discuss about eg elves at all. I can do that little in #majik, and I have done it.
Yes, I have posted few things about item creation, but that is game mechanics again.
What do you want people to discuss here? Most (I hope) are doing something which does not need much discussion.
Nemen is coming.. the biggest problem is now that we do not have much game mechanics ready. The world desing will follow immediately after something happens in that field. And that's going to speed up the development, I have much experience with that. I have seen project starting to grow when something that does not only exist in paper emerges. When something can be tested in real - then the evolution begins.
There is also on problem. It seems to me that people here (the world designers) are not sure, and not ready to make decisions. We need the Project Leaders to decide some major things. How we suppose complete Nemen if we have even no race chosen there?
I say Nemen is quite ready, if we think it from the point of world designing. All it needs now is some game mechanics. And then it all is revealed: It requires much much more world design again. But before this we need something from field of mechanics. Point is, that it might be hard to design when having no fixed points.
And one thing. There was discussion about skill list in WB being incomplete and so on. The common element between these two things is that nobody makes decisions. I try to adduce different points but the final judgement is still required - otherwise you all know where it ends - "swamping the forums with one-liner dialogue that nobody has the stamina to follow"
Things like story for webpage are not world designing and are OT, but they require minimal amount of actual time from designers. They can be, and should be discussed, for who knows what ideas might occur. I believe, and in my case, know that people are doing desing work, but it does not appear in discussion unless a need arises. OTOH the task management is quite dead too and this makes me wonder..
It seems dead, but so do all. Does there happen a thing? Tell.

Thank you for clarifying my point. There is movement in this stagnation but not enough and squabbling about what needs to be done later is being discussed now I am not saying devote every secound to this but it does seem people lose sight of the goal without the proper guidance. Thank you Archantes for you immense wisdom.

Do I smell irony here?
Your got point there, people need guidance and as we all can see, it is not always easy to manage a project like this.

yeah, we'll do that.....when we get to the point to do that
this game isn't developed by a "full-time" staff
we're all volunteers here
it's been years in the making and we only recently (comparitively) released a landscape "test"
the client isn't even done fully yet (to my knowledge), so we can't put in the world until we have a client to view it through
